atricia A. Cleary, M.S., Lead Research Scientist, was
Co-Director of the coordinating center for the
Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT)
under sponsorship of NIDDK and was
the principal investigator of the data coordinating center for
the
Optic Neuritis Treatment Trial
funded by NEI. She is
currently Director of the Data Coordinating Center for
EDIC
, the NIH-funded follow-up study of the DCCT; and principal
investigator for the Biostatistics Center's role in the study of
Markers and Mechanisms of Macrovascular Disease in IDDM
. She was previously director of the Methodological and Biostatistical
Coordinating Center for the
rhIGF-I Genentech Epidemiological Project (IGEP)
. She has over 28 years of experience as a
biostatistician in NIH-sponsored cooperative studies. Prior to
joining the Biostatistics Center in 1977, she served as the
coordinator for the data center for the NIMH pioneer program
entitled Early Clinical Drug Evaluation Unit. She also served as
the statistical consultant to The George Washington University
Department of Medicine. She is an author of over 50 papers
presenting analyses and conclusions of studies with which she has
been involved.
