Dr. Claus Roerborn attended medical school in Giessen, Germany
and came to Texas in 1984 where he did his Urology residency under Dr.
Paul Peters at UT Southwestern from 1984 to 1989. Following this, he
was an American Foundation for Urological Diseases Fellow working
in the laboratory of Dr. Jean Wilson at UT Southwestern. His research
centered around the role of the androgen receptor in the regulation of
benign and malignant prostate growth. Dr. Roehrborn also served as the
Principal Research Analyst for the BPH Guidelines project of the Agency
for Health Care Policy and Research. His current interests include
clinical and basic research in benign and malignant prostatic diseases.
He is principal or co-investigator of many trials involving medical
and/or minimally invasive treatments for BPH. Currently, he is
Associate Professor of Urology at UT Southwestern, staff physician in the
Prostate Disease Center, and Chief of the Urology Section at the Dallas
VA Medical Center.
